just got my receipt for work i did last year.

my “job” (i put that in quotes because I LOVE teaching) paid about 80% of my tuition for the year....AND this was only weekends.

+ whatever money I make selling the yellow and white Suzukis...I have paid off my tuition for the year without any help.

Is this how you adult? I feel like I am adulting properly.

I thought your parents were supposed to pay for your college.

Future you can also pay for college.

Yes, I’m still driving that Crossfire with 185k miles. Why do you ask?

They do. I just try to lighten the load on them as much as I can.

I’m pretty thankful that my taxes help with university and college tuition. I have some friends in the states that pay upwards of $60k a year for undergrad, which is ridiculous when most fields expect some sort of degree.

1: i dont qualify for that and my parents help pay for it. I just try to lighten the load as much as possible

2: Havent gotten hurt yet, so go suck a fat one ;) (and before you raise shit about others being assholes, I am aware. this is why I teach to try and bring that number down)

Crappy Tire paid out a decent amount working summers and weekends, all things considered. Still needed a loan, but all things considered, I don’t owe that much.

On the plus side, I have under $16k left on my student loan left!

If I get a real person job, yes. If not, I should have it paid off in about three more years.

I was teasing you. I was just a joke on our free health care and schools.

I know for a fact that not all bikers are assholes. just like not all toyota drivers drive like little old ladies.

and if you get hurt or not, that really changes nothing for what I pay in taxes,.

i really didn’t mean to offend you. like I said was just poking fun, and the Two wheels bad was the stereotypical thing on oppo.

Cannot figure that out at all, people pay crazy amounts for no-name schools when they could go to Canada/UK/Ireland/Australia/NZ to a school with a way better rep for half the price, even if you figure in travel.

This is solid adulting. It gets harder when/if you add mortgages and children to the mix, but you should hold your head high.

My parents paid for my school, for which I am extremely grateful for. It’s also why I bought an M3, no loans.

little offense taken, but my fault, not yours.

I suck at a lot of things. (school, fitness, life, being a good kid to my parents, etc etc etc) but one think I sorta picked up right away was riding, and its the ONE thing that , as much as I tell people I suck at it, I’ve come to the understanding that i’m actually decent at it, and everytime I feel down/out/sick of shit, I sort jump back to it. and its not that fun when ppl then insinuate you suck at the ONE thing you are good at.

My bad for over reacting. tim bits?

I have about $20k left in total debt. All will be paid off by the end of the year. Now only if I made more money....

I’m not sure I understand the question, but I had awesome coworkers, a great boss who understood my availability (unlike my current job), and which paid me. Not the greatest job in the world, but for part time through university? It wasn’t bad.

my adulting is on point, but it sucks. I just want to be done with school and get a real job already. If my insano schedule works out I will only have 60k in loans for a masters degree, paid off in about a year or so.

Holy crow you’re right the gap has closed hard in Canada (used to be half, even a few years back), but here’s some current examples:

Out of state (domestic) tuition, University of Rhode Island:

$28,874 US/~$38K Canadian

Or my personal favorite, Connecticut College (everyone calls it Conn College, and wonders why I laugh). $47,740 or $62,412!!!

Oxford/Cambridge: £15,755- £23,190 (26013.81 -38297.51 CAD) for international students

TU Delft: € 10,111/$14,206

Trinity College Dublin: € 17,696/24864.08 CAD

University of Otago: NZ$25,600/$24,337 CAD

Still are some Canadian deals though, MUN in St. John’s is probably superior to URI or Conn College, and international tuition there is $8800/yr CAD, or $21K all in with room and board.
